The NZ Auction Network collects basic account information including your name, email address, mobile phone number, region, and city or area. We also collect listing information, auction activity, bids, Q&A, feedback, uploaded images, and video links where provided.
2. Public vs private
Personal contact details (email and phone number) are not publicly displayed. Your chosen display name, region, city or area, listings, feedback, and Q&A may be visible to other logged-in users.
3. Contact details rules
Contact details are only shared according to platform contact rules: visible to logged-in users when the auction has ended, after Buy Now is used, or when the seller has opted in to allow contact.
4. How we use your data
Data is used to operate the platform, manage auctions, maintain platform security, improve trust, prevent fraud, and support users. Aggregated and anonymised data may also be used to improve our services.
5. We do not sell your data
the NZ Auction Network does not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Service providers
We use trusted service providers (such as payment processors, email delivery providers, cloud hosting, image storage, and SMS verification providers) that process limited personal information only where necessary to provide these services.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct, or request removal of your account or personal data at any time. Email the team and we will action your request promptly.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.
9. Cookies & sessions
On the web, we use a JWT session token in your browser storage to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
10. Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or via email.
